A Team Approach to Dental Health
Your appointment will begin with a review of your medical and dental history and a comprehensive dental exam that will consider your gums, teeth, bite and jaw, and utilize a variety of diagnostic tools. Dr. Girard or another Dentist will review the information gathered, and will discuss your dental health status, needs, and goals with you, and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
We Make Time for Show & Tell
During your visit, we will use photos and videos because we want you to clearly see and easily understand what is going on in your mouth. We will explain all the options you have to choose from so you can make an educated choice about your oral health.
The Big Picture
We will also focus on your overall general dental health. By using technology such as digital x-rays, we can take accurate images of your entire mouth in just seconds – and use them to help you understand your oral health levels and how they may be relevant to your overall health.
We will ensure that all of your questions and concerns are addressed, with no pressure to proceed with any procedure unless you are comfortable. We are here to make you shine!
Insurance & Payment
At Oaklands Dental, we'll help you navigate your dental insurance coverage and our options for payment, so you can focus on achieving your dental goals.
Insurance Claims
Dental plans are developed to offset some of the costs of treatment, they are generally not designed based on your unique dental care needs, nor do they cover the full range of dental treatments available today.
While we can help you understand your plan coverage, we are NOT experts on all the details of your dental insurance. The details of your plan are protected by the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA); this makes it extremely difficult for us to get all of the information on your behalf.
You should know how your plan is designed, since this can significantly affect the plan’s coverage and your out-of-pocket expenses. This also helps support you in making informed decisions about improving and maintaining your oral health.
Each of the thousands of plans contain a list of conditions or circumstances that limit or exclude services from coverage. Limitations may be related to time or frequency; the number of procedures permitted during a stated period. Even plans that indicate 100% coverage often have limitations.
As a dental care provider, our relationship is with you, not your insurance company and Dr. Girard focuses on ‘patient centered care’.
We treat our patients based on what is best for your oral health not what is best for your dental insurance provider.
We are happy to work with you to assist in maximizing your plan benefits and minimizing your out of pocket expenses; but ultimately it is your responsibility. As such, all fees not covered by your dental plan are your responsibility.
Thank-you for entrusting Oaklands Dental with your dental care,
Payment Methods
The full treatment cost (or the patient portion if direct-billing to your insurance) must be paid at the time of your appointment. We accept payment by credit card, debit or e-transfer.
